Fibroids* are benign tumour consists of smooth muscle cells with fibrous tissue that grows within the uterine muscle. The two hormones estrogen & progesterone promote growth of fibroid. So, after menopause these hormones drop and fibroid will regress spontaneously. They cause symptoms, like menorrhagia, pain, implantation failure & infertility, recurrent miscarriage. Fibroid will needs surgical removal if it's it's too big > 5cm. During surgery, it can easily be removed in one piece because it is surrounded by pseudocapsule. Patient has 2 symptoms; menorrhagia and unable to conceive. myomectomy** is the surgery to remove fibroids. During surgery, the fibroid was easily enucleated & removed.
